Discover Biodiversity

Exploring nature at John Abbott College

A BioBlitz is a communal citizen-science effort to record as many species as possible, within a designated location and time period, using the iNaturalist app. The goal is to engage students and the public to connect with their environment, whilst generating useful data for science and conservation purposes. The goal would also be to make it an annual event.

No sign-up is needed to participate in the BioBlitz. Just make as many iNaturalist observations as possible at JAC!

Contribute to Science

Contributing to biodiversity science

Every observation can contribute to biodiversity science, from the rarest butterfly to the most common backyard weed. We share your findings with scientific data repositories like the Global Biodiversity Information Facility to help scientists find and use your data. All you have to do is observe.
